One year ago today, my world was changed.
It started out simple enough...the team and I were in China, in the middle of a great week of loving and serving children at Shepherd's Field Children's Village. But that day we were going to be driving 5 minutes to go to Agape Family Life House. Friends I had met the previous year were now living and serving there and I wanted us to not only see them, but share some love with the kids there.
Usually as I love on the kids, I pray that they feel loved, that they see Jesus, and that their forever families will come soon.
We arrived at Agape equipped and ready to make creation banners.
I sat down next to a precious little one.
She was very focused - wanting to attach the numbers and animals in the right place.
And then she smiled at me. And she giggled.
And she sat on the couch next to my dad and they played a tickle game.
And then I picked her up as we went outside.
And as I prayed for her, I had a sense that I wasn't praying for her forever family to come, but that maybe I was her family.
One year ago today.
And today I await for my Travel Approval from China so that I can get on a plane and go bring my daughter home. Forever.
God is good. All the time.
**UPDATE***
Praise God! We received word at the end of the day that we have our Travel Approval! Now we are praying that we will be granted one of the remaining Consulate Appointments for July 10 or 11. If not, it will be not until after the Consulate re-opens (it is moving) July 25.
