To Post or Not To Post

When do I share my excitement?  At what point in this alphabet soup filled process do I let people know what is going on?  I mean, this is HUGE news in my life!  A friend recently shared that this is kind of like pregnancy, some like to share the moment they see the "plus sign" on the test, others wait until all indications are that things are healthy and moving forward...but what should I do?

Part of me says, "wait until you know for sure...wait until you have the stamp of approval (PA?) that says she is 'mine'."  I mean, what happens if I tell everyone, and then something goes wrong and she doesn't get to come home?  And my heart is broken?  And people are then still asking me for updates since they don't know its over?

But there is another part - a bigger part - that says "You're not in this alone!  You're blessed to have people in your life who will pray with and for you, who will share their wisdom, who will distract you when you're waiting, who will laugh with you when you get a great story (like glimpses into Olivia's strong-willed personality and her decision to sit for an hour and a half on a step instead of apologize...LORD help me!), who will give you a hug when you're running out of patience with the process, who have been there...done that...got the kid!"

So...here we go...I am both excited and terrified to let you know that I have started to process to welcome a precious angel into my life!  We have a long road ahead of us, and some mountains that need to be moved, but God is faithful and His will will be done!

Meet Olivia!

God is good!  All the time!

  2. As a single mom, I offer encouragement that you will find the same joy and fulfillment I've found. The key to single parenting is organization. Be happy, enjoy every minute and be thankful you were there when she needed you to be.
